Although we absolutely love summer here at The Dresser, we are also excited to see what Fall 2012 will bring to the fashion front lines. We’ve already received many of our Fall gowns into the store and are helping brides prepare for this lovely time of year. One way we encourage brides to embrace the season is through color. The experts at Pantone have already laid claim to Tangerine Tango as the color of the year for 2012. It has popped up in every aspect fashion from the runway, couture designers, home decor and everyday wear. However, this bold color can be overwhelming if not handled properly. That’s why we decided to put together an inspiration board that marries the vivacious and enticing Tangerine with the ethereal purple Rhapsody. This color combo is a great cross-over from summer to fall and will look lovely at any wedding!
Every wedding reception is wonderfully entertaining. Everyone is laughing, singing and dancing the night away as they celebrate the bride and groom. But every once in a while, you are treated with an unexpected show that simply blows your socks off! Although the concept of having live performances at a wedding is nothing new, some couples are getting creative and providing some amazing acts for their guests to enjoy. From belly dancers to aerialists to taiko drummers, the possibilities (and fun) are endless.
A little birdie told us that brides are crazy for love bird themed wedding ideas. Naturally, we fell in love with how creative you can be with this simple wedding theme. Using this lovely Kathy Ireland for Mon Cheri mermaid gown (available at The Dresser Bridal) as the foundation for our theme, we created two idea boards. The first is a chic and sophisticated modern interpretation of our love bird theme. The second board is a sweet vintage take on love birds. Either way, you’ll be happy as a lark with your wedding decor.
Every detail of your wedding is aimed at creating a grand statement yet intimate atmosphere and one way you can accomplish this goal is by creating your own backdrop. Ceremony, photo booth and even head table backdrops have become huge! These DIY props are great for filling large spaces while creating a warm and cozy ambiance. Designing a unique backdrop is as simple as stringing together lace, strips of multi colored fabric, or floral garlands hung vertically. The sky’s the limit!

Although we work hard to provide inspiration for our brides, we can’t forget about our grooms. Without the groom, we wouldn’t have a bride! When considering how we could bring some inspired style to our grooms, we immediately thought about shoes. Of course, men’s shoes can be pretty standard for weddings. So here are some cool (and unique) kicks for the man of the hour: the groom.
All of this fine footwear (and their sources) can be found on our Pinterest Board.
